Every morning I see you in your garden.
Touching different shades of green. IMG_2350
The constant gardener.

Sometimes I see you reading the clouds.
Testing the soil.
Kneeling. With your hands deep inside the beautiful face of the earth.

This morning I stopped.
Climbed over the fence with no grace at all.
And walked with you through patches of spinach, butternut and basil.
Rows of rocket, sorghum and young moringa trees.
And admired the fruits of your labour. Tasting. Smelling. Feeling.

You harvested some orca bean seeds for me.
Just because I asked.

    If you plant an orca bean do you harvest a whale?

    Nee skat – you have to plant the black bits only – if you plant the bean as it is, you get zebras. Fields and flieds of zebras.
